What Is a Double Hole Tube Clamp?
A double hole tube clamp is a clamp whose body carries two parallel bores instead of one, so it can secure two tubes at the same time. Engineers reach for it whenever two lines travel the same path — a hydraulic pressure-and-return pair, two instrument lines, or a supply-and-drain set — and need to be held together neatly with a single mounting point.
Mechanically it is a standard DIN clamp: two clamping halves close around the tubes, a weld or mounting plate fixes the assembly to the structure, and a cover plate with a hex bolt pulls everything tight. The defining feature is the twin-bore body, which clamps both tubes to full circumference and fixes the distance between them, so the lines cannot drift, touch or chafe.
A double hole clamp does three jobs at once: it supports both lines, it damps the vibration and pressure pulsation travelling through them, and it sets a permanent, repeatable spacing between the two tubes. That combination is why it is a standard fitting on dense hydraulic panels, skids and mobile machinery.
Double Hole, Twin, Double Clamp: Same Product, Different Names
Buyers search for this clamp under several names, and they all refer to the same DIN 3015 Part 3 component. This is worth stating plainly so there is no confusion when specifying or cross-referencing.
Name used | What it refers to |
Double hole tube clamp | Clamp with two bores in one body |
Twin tube clamp | Same clamp — “twin” is the DIN/industry term |
Double clamp / double pipe clamp | Same clamp |
DIN 3015 Part 3 | The standard that defines it |
So a double hole clamp, a twin clamp and a double clamp are one and the same product. Bu-Lok manufactures it to original DIN 3015 Part 3 dimensions, which means it is interchangeable with the twin/double series from STAUFF, Parker and Swagelok regardless of which name your drawing uses.

Two-Bore Construction and Centre-to-Centre Spacing
The detail that separates a good double clamp from a poor one is centre-to-centre spacing — the fixed distance between the two bores. Because both tubes are locked into one body, that spacing is set by the clamp, not by the installer.
This is an advantage, not a limitation. A correctly designed double clamp:
- Holds a constant gap between the two lines, so they never rub or transmit vibration into each other.
- Removes guesswork on site — every clamp along the run places the lines at exactly the same spacing, giving a straight, professional installation.
- Protects both tubes by clamping each to full circumference within its own bore, so neither line carries the load of the other.
Bu-Lok manufactures each double clamp group with the standard DIN centre distance for that tube size. Where a layout needs a wider gap, a tighter gap, or two different diameters in one body, we build the clamp to a custom centre distance to match your drawing.
When to Specify a Double Hole Clamp
A double hole clamp is the right call when both of these are true: the two lines run parallel along the same path, and they share the same outer diameter. In that case one double clamp replaces two single clamps, halving the mounting points, the part count and the installation time, while fixing the spacing automatically.
Use two single clamps instead when the lines diverge onto different paths, sit at spacings the standard double body does not provide, or are different diameters that no standard double clamp accommodates — though Bu-Lok can often solve the last two with a custom double clamp.
Sizing tip: Confirm both tubes share the same outer diameter (OD) before specifying a standard double clamp, and note the required centre distance. For mixed diameters or special spacing, ask for a custom double body rather than forcing a mismatch.
Body Materials for Double Hole Clamps
The body material sets a double clamp’s temperature, chemical and fire performance. Bu-Lok offers three options:
Polypropylene (PP) — the standard, best-value body for paired general routing, with good chemical resistance and vibration damping. Green.
Polyamide (PA / nylon) — the upgrade for higher temperature, higher impact strength and the repeated shock of mobile and earthmoving hydraulics. Black.
Aluminium — for non-combustible, conductive or high-temperature duty such as engine bays, offshore decks and fire-critical zones. Natural silver.
For hardware, zinc-trivalent mild steel covers standard environments, while Stainless Steel 304 or 316 is essential for marine, offshore, washdown and chemical service.
Applications of Double Hole Tube Clamps
Double clamps are built for paired lines in tight spaces. Bu-Lok double hole clamps are used across:
- Hydraulic pressure-and-return circuits — holding the feed and return lines together at fixed spacing.
- Mobile, mining and construction equipment — dense hydraulic routing where every millimetre of panel space matters.
- Skid-mounted and packaged units — repeatable two-line clamping with minimal hardware.
- Instrumentation and control panels — neat side-by-side routing of paired sensing and signal tubing.
- Pneumatic and lubrication systems — managing supply-and-return air or oil lines as a pair.
- Machine tools and automation — tidy two-line management on frames and rails.
- Marine and offshore auxiliary lines — stainless double clamps for paired lines in salt-air conditions.
